The tiny independent Mountain Kingdom of Lesotho is criss-crossed with 4x4 routes bearing such names as God Help Me Pass, Impossible Pass and the Devil's Steps. If it's adventure sport you are looking for, Lesotho has everything from quad biking, 4x4 trails, horse trails on tough Basotho ponies and water sports on the Katse Dam, to the 'Roof of Africa Route' and a hair-raising drive up the awesome Sani Pass where you can enjoy a well earned beer at the highest pub in Africa.
There may be little in the way of domestic industry or wealth in Lesotho, but it is rich in dramatically beautiful mountain scenery, remote and rugged countryside and ancient history with some of the best examples of Bushman (San) rock art to be found anywhere in Africa.
