The Anglo-Zulu War of 1879.
- Day 1: The tour begins in Durban with a visit to The Old Fort before heading along the coast to visit Fort Pearson and the Ultimatum Tree, followed by the battlefields of Gingindlovu and Nyezane before ending the day at Fort kwaMondi near Eshowe. Overnight at Babanango in the heart of Zululand.
- Day 2: Visits to Isandlwana, Fugitive's Drift and Rorke's Drift today, the later encounter immortalized in the film "Zulu", for an in depth study of the famous defence. Overnight in Dundee.
- Day 3: On to Vryheid and visits to the battlefields at Hlobane and Khambule and Intombi Drift before we overnight near Vryheid.
- Day 4: On to Ondini and the battle of Ulundi where Lord Chelmsford dealt a mortal blow to the Zulu nation on 4 July 1879. In the afternoon we will enjoy a leisurely game drive through the nearby Hluhluwe / iMfolozi Park before we overnight at Ulundi at a delightful bush camp.
- Day 5: Return to Durban where you can either connect with a flight home or enjoy a holiday extension in South Africa.

The Anglo-Boer War
- Day 1: The tour begins in Durban with a visit to The Old Fort before heading to the site of Winston Churchill's capture, Chieveley military cemetery and the battle of Colenso. Overnight in Ladysmith.
- Day 2: Head for the battle of Talana at Dundee, stopping at the excellent Talana Museum before moving on to Elandslaagte and returning to Ladysmith for a tour of the Siege Museum, and finishing the day with visits to Caesar's Camp and Wagon Hill. Overnight in Ladysmith.
- Day 3: Today we will visit Intabamnyama, before moving spending the remainder of the day at Spioenkop and a visit to Vaalkrans. Overnight at Spionkop Lodge.
- Day 4: Today is focussing on the battle of Tugela Heights, starting at Hussar Hill and taking you to Colenso Koppies, then Wynne Hills followed by Inniskilling Hill and ending on Pieters Ridge. We return to Durban to finish the day.

Tour of KwaZulu-Natal - lesser known sites
- Day 1: The tour begins in Durban and heads along the coast to visit Fort Pearson and the Ultimatum Tree, followed by the battlefields of Gingindlovu and Nyezane. We then visit Fort kwaMondi near Eshowe, the monument to King Cetshwayo in Eshowe, and end the day at Mandawo the hill that overlooks Odwini (the Hornet's Nest) and the birthplace of Zulu. Overnight at Eshowe.
- Day 2: Today we begin by visiting King Cetshwayo's monument in Eshowe before moving on Mome Gorge, the site of the Bhambatha Rebellion of 1906. From there we will take a picturesque drive through the Nkandla Forest to Ithala and Fort Prospect. Overnight at Babanango.
- Day 3: Today we visit Hlobane, Khambula and Ntombe Drift before we overnight at Vryheid.

Tour of KwaZulu-Natal - Transvaal War of Independence 1880 - 1881
- Day 1: The tour begins in Durban and heads inland for Lang's Nek, the site of a British defeat during Jan 1881, before moving on to Schuinshoogte, another reverse for British troops in February of that year. Overnight near Newcastle.
- Day 2: Today we visit Fort Amiel before moving to the battle of Majuba where the British forces under the command of Gen. Sir George Colley heavily defeated. This part of the tour will finish with a visit to the Volkrust Garden of Remembrance before returning to overnight near Newcastle.
- Day 3: For those that wish to continue, the tour will look at events during the Anglo-Zulu war beginning with visits to Hlobane, Khambula and Ntombe Drift before we overnight at Vryheid.

Western Cape and Eastern Cape Frontier War
- Day 1: The tour begins in Cape Town where you will be transferred from the airport to your hotel near the famous V&A Waterfront. Following a long overnight international flight we suggest you spend an afternoon of leisure, with perhaps a stroll around the V&A Waterfront area with it's many shops, restaurants and bars.
- Day 2: This morning we suggest a trip to Robben Island, where amongst many other political prisoners, former President Nelson Mandela was incarcerated for so many years. If the weather is suitable, a trip by cable car to the top of Table Mountain will be arranged during the afternoon.
- Day 3: Your guide will collect you from the hotel this morning and escort you to visit the Castle of Good Hope including the museum, William Fehr Collection, the Officers Mess of either The Cape Town Rifles (Dukes), Cape Field Artillery or Cape Town Highlanders. Visits will also include the Chavonne Battery at the V&A Waterfront and Fort Wynyard where you can tour the museum, as well the Lion Battery to witness the noon gun firing.
- Day 4: Today we will include visits to either the Apostle Battery at Llandudno or the East and West Forts in Hout Bay, followed by a scenic drive by Chapman's Peak Drive to Cape Point. From there we move on to Simonstown to visit some of the many historic military buildings in the town and explain the town's development into a naval centre since VOC days. After lunch we travel to the naval dock yard as guests of the SA Navy. Visit available SA Navy ships, the dry dock and possibly a short trip to sea.
- Day 5: From your hotel you will be collected and proceed to Muizenberg to cover the Battle of Muizenberg and visit the Het Poshuis Museum. After lunch we visit the world renowned botanical gardens at Kirstenbosch. If we have been unable to visit Table Mountain during Day 2, we will have another attempt this afternoon.
- Day 6: A rest day with a tour of the nearby Winelands to enjoy some wine tasting.
- Day 7: A local flight to Port Elizabeth and transfer to Grahamstown in the Eastern Cape, followed by a tour of the old frontier area of Cape Colony.
- Day 8: Full day tour of Frontier War Battlefields, including the Battle of Grahamstown of 1819.
- Day 9: A day tour of Bathurst, an historic village significant in the 6th Frontier War and former capital of the 1820 Settler Settlement.
- Day 10: A rest day with the option to visit the nearby Addo Elephant National Park.
- Day 11: A local flight to Cape Town to connect with a flight home or enjoy an optional holiday extension in South Africa.

- Thu 23 Oct: This morning will involve a tour of Isandlwana followed by a visit to Fugitive's Drift in the afternoon.
- Fri 24 Oct: Onward today to a delightful lodge near Dundee as a base for exploring the nearby Anglo-Boer War battlefields and museum. Tours will include Ladysmith and Talana.
- Sat 25 Oct: Continue today with guides tours of Colenso, Wagon Hill and Churchill's Capture site.
- Sun 26 Oct: We move on this morning to visit the battle of Spioenkop before heading on to the foothills of the Drakensberg Mountains.
- Mon 27 Oct: A break today from battlefields will be spent exploring the Drakensberg including The Royal Natal National Park.

- Tue 28 Oct: Transfer by domestic flight to Cape Town where you will me met by your guide and transferred to your hotel on the V&A Waterfront. The afternoon will be at leisure.
- Wed 29 Oct: This morning your guide will escort you on a city orientation tour and a trip by cable car to the top of Table Mountain (weather permitting). During the afternoon you will be taken on a visit to Robben Island where former President Nelson Mandela spent so many years incarcerated on the island prison.
- Thu 30 Oct: Today you will enjoy a full day guided peninsula tour, to include Simonstown, the penguins at Boulders Beach and Cape Point National Park.
- Fri 31 Oct: This morning you will be collected from your hotel for a full day guided Winelands tour, to include wine tastings.
